Xbox Live gusta mucho al público femenino
Mucho se criticó a Microsoft por hacer que su Xbox One parezca más un centro multimedia que una consola de videojuegos. Pero parece que en Estados Unidos realmente funciona Xbox Live más allá que para juegos. Y no sólo eso, sino que la cifra de mujeres que usan el servicio online de Xbox es del 40%. Mucho más del porcentaje habitual en el mundillo.
Así lo dicen en Microsoft, donde afirman que el 40% de la "audiencia" de Xbox Live en Estados Unidos está formada por mujeres, según el directivo de Redmond Kevin Turner. Si bien nos preguntamos cómo lo hace el bueno de Turner para medir esa "audiencia", datos que ha dado durante la última reunión financiera de la compañía.
No fue la única cifra destacable. Sino que se habló del "cambio gigantesto" desde que el servicio fue lanzado por primera vez, con un 42% de usuarios en Estados Unidos viendo 30 horas de televisión digital y películas por mes. No hay cifras para el resto del mundo, que seguro que es menos.
Pero da una visión de lo que busca también Microsoft. Que Xbox Live sea una plataforma de televisión y multimedia que funcione como alternativa contra el resto de opciones del mercado. No es mala idea, pero que no descuiden a la videoconsola.
Hasta 48 millones de usuarios en Xbox Live
Actualmente, Xbox Live tiene hasta 48 millones de miembros repartidos en 41 países. Además, Turner reveló que la plataforma digital emite más de 18.000 horas de entretenimiento global en todo el mundo. Motivos suficientes para que Xbox One esté tan enfocada a ser el centro del salón.
"Y estamos muy ansiosos por el inminente lanzamiento de Xbox One", explicó Turner. "Creemos que será increíble lo que ofreceremos gracias a la experiencia multijugador y de servicios, con montones de entretenimiento y los mejores juegos" en Xbox Live, afirma el hombre de Microsoft.
