AstraZeneca Farmaceútica, mediante su división de I+D, ha diseñado ‘Paciente Virtual’, una herramienta de simulación enfocada a recrear el ámbito de una consulta típica de Atención Primaria o Psiquiatría, donde el profesional sanitario podrá practicar el diagnóstico de pacientes con depresión mayor o trastorno bipolar entre otras patologías.
Estas son enfermedades graves, que presentan una frecuencia elevada en las consultas de los profesionales de salud y el abordaje de la primera visita es clave para la intervención terapéutica y la derivación de los pacientes a la unidad correspondiente si se dan en Atención Primaria.
La herramienta, gratuita para médicos de Atención Primaria y especialistas en salud mental, esta avalada por el Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Salud Mental (CIBERSAM) y recrea mediante avatares semirealistas a pacientes que presentan los síntomas más habituales de ambas dolencias.
El software es muy completo en cuanto a la variedad de situaciones generadas entre el profesional sanitario y el paciente. Cada caso que presenta tiene un diagnóstico determinado, pero las posibilidad de abordarlo son múltiples y cambian dinámicamente según el sanitario va decidiendo las pautas de intervención.
Enfrentarse a casos tan habituales como la depresión y el trastorno bipolar en tiempo real sin necesidad de enfrentarse a un paciente presente, puede mejorar la capacitación de los profesionales minimizando los costes y optimizando su posterior desempeño laboral.
