Nintendo sabe que no ha gestionado bien la irrupción de su nueva consola. Que demasiados usuarios de Wii no saben que Wii U es una consola totalmente nueva. Ahora intenta enmendar el error. Sobre todo en Europa y empezando en Inglaterra, ya que aquí la consola de la gran N es una gran desconocida que vendía cien unidades por día.
Ya en mayo, Nintendo envió a todos los usuarios de Wii, a través de WiiConnect24, un mensaje indicando que Wii U es una nueva consola y "no sólo una actualización" de la consola. Y ahora los chicos de la gran N en Inglaterra van a empezar una nueva campaña en supermercados para concienciar a sus posibles compradores.
En centros comerciales como Tesco en Inglaterra se repartirán más de 300.000 folletos de cinco páginas para aquellos que compraron una Wii en su momento pero no han comprado otra consola. Es posible que en otros países europeos veamos una acción similar, ya que Wii U vende realmente poco en Europa.
Y es que Nintendo Inglaterra reconoce el error. "Hubo una gran falta de miras con el lanzamiento de Wii U, y uno de los mensajes que debimos enviar era que es una nueva consola y un nuevo mando", explican. Porque, avisan, "hay mucha gente que aún no sabe qué es" esta nueva consola.

"No hemos tenido las ventas que esperábamos con Wii U, y no hemos tenido muchos juegos en la mayoría del año", reconoce Nintendo, además de decir que tienen "unos números ambiciosos para el final de año y muchas sagas viniendo".
