Sony da un repaso a la historia de Playstation
Desde que Sony anunciase el evento que tendrá lugar mañana, la compañía ha ido publicando desde hace varios días una serie de videos en los que se ofrece una visión general de todos los dispositivos que se han ido lanzando al mercado a lo largo de los últimos años y bajo la marca Playstation. Sony ha querido repasar la evolución de sus consolas, que en mayor o menor medida, forman ya parte de la historia del mundo de los videojuegos.
Sony Playstation: El Comienzo
Todo comenzó en el año 94 cuando Sony lanzó en japón la primera Playstation. Equipada con una unidad de CD-ROM y con unas especificaciones técnicas avanzadas para la época, Playstation no tardó en abrirse paso rápidamente a través de todos los mercados. La consola consiguió vender en 10 años más de 100 millones de unidades en todo el mundo. Su distribución terminó en el año 2005.
Playstation 2
Playstation 2 irrumpía en el mercado en el año 2000 con una notable evolución en los gráficos y en las características de la consola. A pesar de contar con unos duros rivales (Dreamcast, Game Cube y Xbox), todos tuvieron que ceder ante el poderío que demostraba la nueva consola de Sony. Hasta enero de este mismo año, Playstation 2 ha estado presente en el mercado y durante sus casi 12 años de vida, la consola ha distribuido más de 150 millones de unidades.
Playstation 3
Seis años después del lanzamiento de Playstation 2, Sony ponía a la venta la tercera consola de sobremesa desarrollada por la compañía. La especificaciones técnicas con las que contaba Playstation 3, conseguían que el salto generacional fuera aún más espectacular que con el paso a PS2, a pesar de que tardamos una temporada en ver de lo que era capaz la consola. Hasta la fecha se han distribuido más de 70 millones de unidades.
Portátiles: PSP y PS Vita
El último video publicado por Sony repasa brevemente la historia de las portátiles de la compañía. Con el lanzamiento de PSP, la compañía nos ofreció la posibilidad de llevarnos a cualquier rincón del mundo todas esas sensaciones que hasta la fecha solo se podían conseguir con sus consolas de sobremesa. PS Vita ha sido la evolución de aquella consola aunque la experiencia se ha multiplicado por mucho gracias a todas las mejoras que incorpora. La portátil acaba de cumplir su primer año de vida y todavía tiene un largo camino por delante.
