La compañía ha hecho pública la noticia a través del blog oficial de XBLA. En ella, se anuncia que la marca ‘Killer Instinct’ ha sido renovada y que seguirá durante unos años más en poder de Microsoft. Recordemos que hace más o menos 10 años Rare fue adquirida por Microsoft, quedándose esta con la mayor parte de las franquicias producidas por el estudio.
“Con todo el debido respeto a nuestros amigos en los medios de comunicación a los cuales les gusta tanto frecuentar las páginas de registros de marcas, pensamos que sería mejor dar la noticia nosotros mismos.”
Microsoft no ha dado más detalles o explicado los motivos del porque han hecho público esta noticia. Es extraño que sean ellos quienes anuncien un movimiento de este tipo y seguramente buscaban en la comunidad una reacción de este tipo. Los últimos rumores que circulan por la red apuntan a una posible versión HD del juego, pero tendremos que esperar para comprobar si la compañía ha decidido resucitar la franquicia después de tantos años…
