Rovio Entertainment ha firmado con Disney para la realización de la próxima película de Angry Birds. La dirección cinematográfica ha sido encomendada a Fergal Reilly y Clay Kaytis, conocidos por títulos como Lluvia de Albóndigas y Enredados.
El estreno de la película de Angry Birds ha sido anunciado para el 1 de julio de 2016 y será distribuida mundialmente por Sony Pictures.

Clay Kaytis unió a Disney como supervisor de animación en 2009. En ese cargo ha trabajado en Enredados, ¡Rompe Ralph! y Bolt, así como en diversos cortometrajes.
Fergal Reilly también ha trabajado con Disney, pero recientemente ha figurado como director de Sony Pictures Animation, donde dirigió The Familiars. Sus créditos incluyen también Lluvia de Albóndigas y Los Pitufos.
