Hola amigos, el mes pasado os hablábamos de Paciente Virtual, un simulador que permite a los profesionales sanitarios, formarse en el diagnostico y abordaje de diferentes transtornos psicológicos a través de la interacción con pacientes virtuales. En esta ocasión, os traemos la otra cara de la moneda: 'SimSensei'.
El Instituto de Tecnologías Creativas de la Universidad del Sur de California esta trabajando en un proyecto pionero para la detección de DARPA (Agencia de Proyectos de Investigación Avanzados de Defensa de Estados Unidos) y Análisis Computacional de Señales Psicológicas (DCAPS). El proyecto dirigido por Louis-Philippe Morency y Albert "Skip" Rizzo, combina los últimos avances en: inteligencia artificial, el procesamiento natural del lenguaje y la visión por ordenador.
A través de dos sistemas integrados, 'SimSensei', rastrea y analiza en tiempo real: las expresiones faciales, la postura corporal, características acústicas, patrones lingüísticos y de comportamiento del paciente. Reconociendo posibles indicadores de malestar psicológico, como: la depresión, ansiedad y trastorno de estrés postraumático.
En la actualidad, el Análisis Computacional de Señales Psicológicas, ya se está integrando en la aplicación humana de las TIC a la salud. Y aunque sus creadores insisten, en que su función no es proporcionar un diagnóstico exacto, sí puede servir de ayuda a los profesionales sanitarios para obtener una medida general de la salud psicológica del paciente y de su seguimiento a largo plazo.
Objetivos de 'SimSensei':
- Generar nuevas herramientas de apoyo para la toma de decisiones clínicas.
- Difusión de enfermedades psicológicas, mejorar su conocimiento, el acceso y atención a la salud mental. Reduciendo el estigma que supone para los pacientes, personal militar y sus familias buscar ayuda y recibir atención psicológica.
- Integración de sistemas virtuales interactivos basados en agentes de salud que son capaces de reconocer e identificar los problemas psicológicos a partir de las señales multimodales ( señales verbales, gestuales o corporales que se relacionan con el comportamiento).
Por ejemplo, 'SimSensei' se puede utilizar para la identificación temprana del grado de sufrimiento de un paciente, generando la información necesaria para ayudar a un médico a diagnosticar un trastorno de estrés potencial. Además la detección de estos estados, se puede emplear para la creación de perfiles psicológicos que puedan ayudar a evaluar el cambio del paciente a lo largo del tiempo o tratamiento.
'SimSensei' utiliza MultiSense para detectar señales y comportamientos.
'SimSensei' integra dos sistemas tecnológicos basados en la captura de movimientos faciales (gestos al hablar, movimientos oculares, nivel de sonrisa...), corporales (postura, actividad o inquietud) y el análisis del lenguaje (atención, interrupciones) para la identificación y reconocimiento de posibles indicadores de malestar psicológico:
MultiSense: rastrea y analiza automáticamente y en tiempo real, las expresiones faciales, la postura corporal, características acústicas, patrones lingüísticos y descriptores de comportamiento de alto nivel (como: la atención, la inquietud…). A través de estas señales y comportamientos, posibles indicadores de malestar psicológico, Multisense informa directamente a SimSensei, una plataforma basada en la recreación de avatares médicos virtuales capaces de detectar o reconocer estas señales audio-visuales captadas por Multisense.
La plataforma permite la interacción cara a cara entre el paciente y el psicólogo virtual que reacciona de forma automática a la situación percibida por el paciente y su intención, a través de su propia voz y gestos.
Conclusión:
Aunque 'SimSensei' puede predecir con hasta un 90% de exactitud: las señales, síntomas y comportamientos asociados a transtornos como: la depresión, ansiedad o el síndrome de estrés postraumático. Es solo una herramienta de medida que como bien dicen sus responsables, proporciona información a los profesionales sanitarios del área de salud mental. Son ellos y solamente ellos, los únicos que pueden interpretar, contextualizar y valorar los datos de 'SimSensei'. Teniendo en cuenta además, otro tipo de indicadores más cualitativos, como: las emociones, sentimientos del paciente, contexto familiar y social... Que completan el perfil psicológico del paciente y sirven para tomar las mejores decisiones en cuanto al diagnóstico del estado global de salud mental del paciente y su tratamiento.
